On Saturday, December 6 2025, Global Friends—the student volunteer community under the International Affairs Cooperation Office (IACO) at Soegijapranata Catholic University (SCU)—held its much-anticipated monthly report meeting. Carrying the theme “Christmas Around the World,” the event transformed a routine meeting into a warm and lively celebration of the holiday season.

The gathering served a dual purpose: reviewing the progress of each division while also strengthening bonds among members through a “Dinner Movie Night” concept. This approach successfully balanced organizational responsibilities with a joyful festive atmosphere.

From the moment members arrived, the Christmas spirit filled the room. Dressed in red, green, and white in line with the event’s color code, participants created a vibrant and cheerful setting. The atmosphere was joyful and energetic, reflecting the enthusiasm of members eager to celebrate their achievements throughout the year.

The event officially began with lively opening remarks from the MCs, Nae and Keisha, who guided the program smoothly. They led the session into the presentation of progress reports from the three main divisions:

  1. PRCM (Public Relations and Content Management)

  2. TDTA (Talent Development and Acquisitions)

  3. SA (Student Activities)

After the formal agenda concluded, the focus shifted to fun and interaction. The first ice-breaking game, “Assemble the Scrambled Letters,” challenged members to work together, encouraging teamwork and friendly collaboration.

The highlight of the evening followed as the lights dimmed for the Dinner and Movie session. Members enjoyed a screening of “A Trash Truck Christmas”, a lighthearted film that brought smiles and laughter. While watching the movie, participants were served warm meals, including chicken flat rice noodles, classic chicken noodles, and chicken vermicelli noodles. This relaxing moment allowed everyone to unwind and enjoy each other’s company.

The excitement continued with a second ice-breaker game, “Squirrels in the Trees,” which energized the room with movement and laughter, further strengthening the sense of camaraderie among members.

The night concluded with a traditional gift exchange session. Members shared presents as a gesture of gratitude and appreciation, unwrapping a variety of thoughtful and fun items such as tumblers, mini fans, and playing cards. The session ended smoothly, leaving a warm and memorable impression.

“Christmas Around the World” was more than just a monthly report meeting. It served as a meaningful reminder to embrace the joy of Christmas and welcome the upcoming New Year with renewed spirit. With refreshed energy and strengthened connections, Global Friends is ready to take on new projects and challenges in the year ahead.

Stay tuned for what this energetic community brings to SCU in 2026!
