On Saturday, November 16, 2024, Global Friends, a student volunteer community affiliated with the International Affairs Cooperation Office (IACO) at Soegijapranata Catholic University (SCU), held its monthly report event with a unique Halloween theme. The event, titled "Dino Demit", takes inspiration from Javanese language, where "Dino" means "Day" and "Demit" means "Supernatural Being." This tradition, now in its second year, once again combined creativity and camaraderie in a Halloween celebration that extended into November.

The second edition of Dino Demit was designed as a platform for reporting progress from each team in Global Friends while fostering closer relationships among members. The event also served as a creative outlet for members to explore the Halloween theme. Combining professionalism and entertainment, Dino Demit provided a unique experience for everyone involved.

The enthusiasm of Global Friends members was evident from the beginning of the event, as they showcased a variety of costumes embodying the Halloween spirit. Participants dressed as ghosts in all-white outfits, Spider Woman, Catwoman, Angel, Fallen Angel, and even characters from famous films. One participant, Tri, shared her thoughts: "I recently watched Wednesday, so I thought it would be fun to wear a Wednesday-inspired costume for Dino Demit."

The event kicked off with progress reports from the three main divisions:

1. PRCM (Public Relations and Content Management)

2. TDTA (Talent Development and Acquisitions)

3. FGL (Finance Governance and Logistics)

This was followed by exciting games like Werewolf and Scavenger Hunt. The laughter and energy of the participants filled the room, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Next was a fashion show featuring unique costumes from members. In addition to the costume parade, participants enjoyed a short film screening, further enriching the artistic vibe of the event. To conclude, awards were given for the best costumes, creating a fun and competitive spirit among participants.

As a hallmark of Halloween traditions, the event ended with a 'Trick or Treat' session. Members shared goodie bags filled with snacks and candies, fostering a warm and cheerful moment of togetherness. Isa, one of the committee members, expressed her delight: "The event was so much fun, especially playing Werewolf and Scavenger Hunt. Also, during Trick or Treat, I got so many snacks. I hope next year’s Dino Demit will be just as exciting!"

Dino Demit 2024 proved that routine events like monthly reports can be creatively packaged without losing their core purpose. With the Halloween spirit, Global Friends successfully created a memorable experience that inspired creativity and strengthened camaraderie. This tradition is expected to continue, bringing fresh innovations each year.

Shall we see what’s our next monthly gathering? Another creative event awaits… Stay tune, fellas!
