Happy Valentine’s Day!

A day to share love and joy, how graceful! 

Valentine is an occasion where love conquers all! Have you ever fallen in love? Alright, that’s too far, how about loving your friends and family? Now, Global Friends didn’t want to be left out on this special day of love and care! Thus, Global Friends held its first ever virtual monthly gathering with a “Valentine” theme at the beginning of 2024. Truly remarkable! 

 

My, How truly fascinating how Valentine Day is. It is a once-a-year celebration that brings back memories of love and affection. Don’t you think it’s amusing in some ways? Who doesn't want to exchange chocolates with our dear friends or maybe hmm… our dear beloved? Whoops, apologies for those who aren’t able to enjoy dairy products or pleasant memories of their loved ones! We truly hope you will be able to find joy on Valentine Day!

“It’s Valentine’s time, can this year be more special for me? I really want chocolates and roses, and most importantly! Someone! Who! Can! Be! My! Valentine!” Mostly, those desires come when celebrating Valentine’s Day. One day, may our wishes come true! Well, as in asking for eternal love and happiness. Didn’t that make your heart flutter? Hehe! The essence of romance is here, folks! Don’t forget to buy yourself some sweet delights or sweet rest to brighten your days!

On February 17th, Global Friends celebrated Valentine with sweetness and were led by our two beautiful Emcees, Nat and Amel. The event took place virtually to celebrate love, friendship, and the spirit of togetherness. Even though it was virtual, the purpose and essence of the event were fully accomplished. Let's see what romantic surprises have been prepared for this event!!

Valentine’s spirit with us!!!

To kick off the event, the MC opened with a brief spoiler of the event sessions. The event would be more exciting if we could guess what would happen next. To bless the romantic atmosphere of this event, an opening prayer was conducted. “God, may this event take me to the world of chocolate and my true love!!!” ~Aww

After asking blessings, the vice presidents of each division presented progress reports in their respective divisions, starting from Public Relations & Content Management (PRCM), Talent Development & Talent Discussion, and Student Activity division, which ended with PM Wintercamp. Overall, each division performed their tasks exceptionally well. Veena as the chairperson of Global Friends expressed her appreciation afterward. “Good job all,” Veena said.

The eagerly awaited session finally here!!

Secret Admire Games, a conditional secret message game to unlock the door to the hearts of each Global Friends member. This game required all players to play and allowed sending messages to more than 1 person. The condition of this game is that players mustn’t write their own names, but must write to whom the letter is addressed. After 10 minutes passed, the MC began action by reading out one by one the heart cards of each player. The excitement began when each player tried to guess who wrote the message for them.

That’s just the beginning... The session continued with Movie Time!!

Here we watched “Lop Lop movie,” which certainly made the Valentine’s romance even more real!! Even for our friend who had never experienced it before, haha.. The movie made us feel a little jealous of the main character in his world, but fortunately, we were reminded again of “Reality”.

Okay nextt.. we were greeted by “From Heart to Heart” games.

Just from its name, we could feel what the game would be like later!! We felt that the event organizers were not satisfied in revealing our secrets in the previous games.. How cruel!! In this session, the operator spin the wheel twice with all the player’s names written on it. The first person selected would convey the contents of their heart to the second person, and so on. It was a fun game, but all our secrets were finally revealed here!! It’s a scary game..

The moment continued with “Guess the Romantic Song” games.

This game forced the music instinct and player’s minds to work quite hard. Players were required to accurately guess the title of the song from a piece of instrumental music played. But there’s a catch! Players not only had to guess but also had to be quick with other players to guess the song earlier!! Who’s the fastest, hmm?

The last game, which of course we are all familiar with, guess what??

Correct, Truth or dare!! A game that is very often played among young people and even adults which requires players to choose between “truth” or “dare”. When a player chooses “truth,” they must answer questions asked by other players honestly. Conversely, when a player chooses “dare,” they will get a task to do. Because it was held on Valentine’s Day, of course, the game would lead to the topic of romance.. and that’s where the fun happens!!

As a closing of the event, we filled out satisfaction surveys and took a photo session. Because the event started with a prayer, the closing was also ended with a prayer. This is our Valentine’s story, what’s your Valentine’s story??
