Global Friends Welcoming Party 2025
Global Friends, the student volunteer society affiliated with the International Affairs and Cooperation Office (IACO) at Soegijapranata Catholic University (SCU), held its highly anticipated welcoming party for new members on Saturday, November 1, 2025
The Welcoming Party is an annual tradition designed to warmly embrace the newest additions to the Global Friends community. This year’s event was nothing short of spectacular, centered around the stunning theme "Gothic and Gleam." Inspired by the iconic aesthetics of the "Monster High" characters, the theme was vividly brought to life through the unique and stylish dress codes worn by every member.

The event kicked off with a lively opening by the stylish duo of MC, Dante and Made, who successfully led the proceedings with great chemistry and energy. The agenda continued with a sense of solemnity, starting with an opening prayer and the singing of the Soegijapranata Catholic University anthem. This built up to the highlight of the event: the official handover of the presidency from the previous president, Nadia Natasya, to the newly elected president, Amelia Ananda Vidi

The excitement continued with introductions from each division and their members. Roars of laughter filled the room during the ice breaking session, effectively melting away any awkwardness between the old and new generations. Global Friends aimed to create a festive atmosphere while introducing the community's organizational culture. A "sharing session" encouraged current members to share their experiences, while new recruits recounted their journeys to joining the community.
Beyond the fun and festivities, the outgoing members expressed their high hopes that this regeneration would lead Global Friends to greater heights and expanded networks. The dedication and dynamic efforts of the previous members and divisions were also recognized through a special awards session, witnessed by everyone present.

Before concluding what was arguably the best gathering to date, the Global Friends members closed the event with a final prayer and a documentation session. These moments were captured and immortalized, marking the beginning of a memorable new chapter for the organization.
